Amazon kills affiliate program in Colorado thanks to taxes
"Amazon has pulled the plug on its affiliate program in Colorado thanks to a new state regulation on sales tax collection. The company sent a notice to its Colorado-based affiliates Monday morning to let them know about the decision, urging residents who depend on the affiliate program to contact their lawmakers if they want the program back."
Could this be a portent of things to come? We certainly hope not! But in the end, it would be very hard to fight City Hall as they say.
What with all the Internet Marketers out there who parade their 6 digit earnings for all to see, it's only a matter of time when the Big G decides to have a slice of the pie.
There may be a way out of this: move out of Colorado and live in a resort in the Philippines to market offshore.
In that way, you would still be legally an American Citizen while at the same time earn through the Internet.
