Work as a freelance writer.
Most of the writing gigs that I get are from people who are engaged in Affiliate Marketing. They ask me to write tons of articles about all sort of products or services.
One part that I like about this is that I get the best of both worlds.
- I get to hear about exactly what they want (which is what they need for their campaigns).
- I get to see how they use their strategies.
- I get to see what works and what doesn't.
One can argue that you might pick up wrong strategies or information about how people proceed with their affiliate marketing strategies. Yes, that's true.
You still get paid for it.
1. There's no such thing as a bad learning experience. Failure ultimately leads to success. By working for others, you not only gain valuable insight and experience on what works and what doesn't - you also get paid for it.
2. Treat the experience as a hands on training where you won't have to pay anyone. By doing so, you are in fact reducing your startup expenses and reducing overhead costs.
3. Since these people's campaigns are on the line, they have everything to lose if they do it wrong. That's why they won't give you wrong information.
4. Should they fail. You still earn money.
How do you start with freelance writing?
You can go to websites like oDesk or Freelancer.com.
For me, however, the best experience came in the form of word of mouth referrals. I met just one Internet Marketer who was very happy with my work and referred me to 2 more people. I've been writing for them for at least 4 months now.
