One of the blogs on my blogroll is a blog owned by Mark, an Organic SEO and SEM connoisseur. I don't exactly remember how I found his blog, but when I did, I did my best to absorb everything that I can learn from him. This guy is great, he doesn't hold back like the other bloggers do. He'll tell you everything that you need to know and do about this field.

Now, if you're going to ask me what Organic SEO and SEM is all about, I really wouldn't have a clue. But from what I learned from Mark, it's about doing things the natural way.

Mark goes in depth on the matter and proceeds to highlight each and every aspect that there is. He also used to have his own Article Marketing directory and he details his experiences in that aspect there. The more I think about SEO the less that I want to think about it, gaming Google isn't really a good way to build up a rep.

But with Organic SEO, you can be sure to toe the line while gaining an ethical advantage.

I will make a daring assessment that Google's forte isn't really about Search.

(Oh dear, I can see the tomatoes flying this way) 

I'll make the assertion that Google's forte is in marketing, more than search, more than Youtube, more than Gmail.

Why? Think about this, prior to all of Google's acquisitions all they had was search, they then acquired Blogspot in 2003, after that they then developed GMail in 2004 and offered free web based email services, in 2006 video sharing site YouTube got assimilated and in 2008 they acquired Doubleclick for $3.1 Billion in Cash - now what does all of these tell us about Organic SEO?

What this tells us is that Google started out with a natural process of acquiring customers, providing value to them with freebies, building a long and happy relationship, then proceeding to "monetize" the relationship. In Organic SEO and Organic Search Engine Marketing, the same principle applies. You have to go through the same process of:

1. Providing value to people

2. Building healthy relationships 

3. Offering more value which can then be monetizeable
